Detail

Chapter title: The legacy of John the Baptist. The apostles' hour of death. John's love of God.

Calendar: Friday, January 7, 28 (22 Tebeth 3788)

Cycle: The Samaritan Woman

Summary: Simon the Zealot noticed that Jesus wasn't in bed at night. He wanted to protect him from the cold, even if it meant suffering a little himself. He doesn't mind, given his past life as a leper. Simon asked Jesus if the Master could pass by the lepers in Jerusalem. Christ nods in agreement, and John asks if he has been prayed for and will teach him his Prayer this year. Jesus answers in the affirmative. Peter finally refocuses the conversation on what the Master did during the night: he reveals that he went to see his Forerunner, who is about to die. They are amazed that he had to be strengthened, and Jesus says that the saints will only know how to go to martyrdom thanks to Him. The Twelve then speak of their difficulty in suffering, and of the grace of going before or after Christ. John concludes the conversation by asking Jesus to increase his Love for them.

Chapter contents: 149.1: The Zealot invites Jesus to see the lepers home. 149.2: Jesus calls Peter to spiritual progress. 149.3 : You promised to teach us your prayers. 149.4: Holiness is more precious than money. 149.5: The difficult future of the apostles. 149.6: Jesus, increase your love.
