In EMV 146.1, Jesus says: "Today I'm not going to quote the great Ezekiel, but the favorite disciple of Jeremiah, the very great prophet."
Baruch was a friend of the prophet Jeremiah and became his secretary. He mentions him several times. Baruch's book appears in the LXX (Septuagint) at the time of Christ. It is counted among the deuterocanonical books by Catholic and Orthodox tradition, and among the apocryphal books by Protestant and Anglican tradition.
