Cycle: Apostolate in Judea
Summary: Jesus is surrounded by the whole town of Yutta, who embrace him with affection. Jesus is happy about this, and Maria gives in to her reflections. She declares that Jesus takes refuge in the hearts of faithful souls, and they are seized by an ardent love that is joy and suffering at the same time. It is the fever of Love that consumes them, making them live and die at the same time, before bringing them back to their normal state, plunging them into humility. Maria is astonished at her parenthesis, which is longer than she expected, and refocuses on the vision. Jesus is then welcomed by Sarah, who leaves no one the joy of having the Master for dinner in her home.
Next, Jesus gives a discourse on idolatry based on the book of Jeremiah. He explains that hearts have become deserts, where God is not to be found, and that there is now a forest of idols. Many now have golden calves within them, and it is dreadful not to know God. Man must know God, out of gratitude and respect for his own intelligence. Out of gratitude, because God has restored grace to man through the Redeemer, and his creature receives everything he needs to live. Out of respect for his own reason, for the man who fails in his duties to God dishonors himself, since he knows how to reflect and recognize who his benefactor is.
Distance from Christ is both a good and an evil. A bad thing, because we can't hear him the way we want to; a good thing, because it keeps souls away from the corruption that tries to surround Jesus and suffocate him. However, solitude does not prevent God from speaking everywhere, and the Lord promises to send many disciples. He also invites those who want to follow him to do so, and above all he invites everyone to proclaim Christ through an honest life.
For her part, Maria Valtorta rereads what she has written and feels that it is really below what she has experienced.

The idolatry of men. 212.6: The need to know God by gratitude. 212.7: Remoteness from the Temple is not a handicap for proclaiming Christ. 212.8: Maria Valtorta believes that her description of the overflow of love fell short of reality.
